Peepholes

In the mission the parishioners have been
Throwing rocks through the commisioner's yuppie car windows
I understand, I mean they've been there for four generations
But it happened to a friend of mine
So tell me whose side, whose side are you on?
And the fog starts rolling in
Because the fog is always rolling in

The wild-eyed boy says I'm tired of trying to lose my head
He sighs and makes to fake the blues instead
He says, "I'm not going to give my love to a brother anymore
I'm going to spend time doing the things I moved out here for."
And the sun goes down
The sun goes down on a California town
The sun goes down on a California town

My peoples are you with me, where you gone?
What happened to the time when we said we could get along
Beer gut and nicotine stains, it's a shame
Ain't a damn thing changed
My peoples were you with me, where you been?
Lounging around with your daughters where the Freshwater Kills begins
Dead heather and a broken-down train, it's shame
Ain't a damn thing changed

(The days go so slow, when they go)
